Open Church

The Open Church project is a 28-day pilot scheme to serve people affected by homelessness and crisis which will begin in January 2018 when the weather is at its worst.

The project is backed and supported by local Churches, the Portsmouth diocese and the Society of St James (a homeless day service).

We aim to provide overnight accommodation, hot nutritious meals, friendship and support for people who are experiencing homelessness.

There will be a named venue for each night of the week where up to 10 guests will travel to each evening.

The scheme is a rolling shelter – one that is located at a different venue each night of the week.
